A SINGER-SONGWRITER from Chippenham will be rubbing shoulders with Coldplay and Muse this summer after being invited to perform at the Glastonbury Festival.
Jarid Clark will take to the Avalon Café Stage at the world-famous event in June after applying with a video of one of his live performances.
The Avalon Café bookers were suitably impressed and reserved a slot for him on a date to be confirmed at the June 22-26 live music extravaganza.
The track Jarid submitted will also be included on a compilation album released through Negart records.
The 23-year-old, managed by Marland music management, said: “It’s a really exciting time, this year is the first time I’m going to Glastonbury let alone playing, it’s crazy.
“I’m working on some new songs and a new EP, it will be released before Glastonbury so hopefully I can build some new momentum before then.
“The support from my friends and family is great, coming to all of my gigs and making it all worthwhile.”
Coldplay and Muse have already been confirmed as two of the three headliners at Worthy Farm, with Adele, Radiohead and the Stone Roses among those rumoured to be taking the third main slot on the Pyramid Stage this summer.
The Glasto call-up is the icing on the cake following a great few months for the Wood Lane resident.
His Out Of Mind track was chosen to feature on Sony compilation LP A Breath Of Fresh Air, which received a global release in February, and he performed the backing music to the hit Chippenham BID Christmas video promoting his hometown.
The promo, which you can catch here, was viewed by more than 20,000 people on Index Wiltshire in November.
