A FORMER footballer who used to train with Manchester United will be trying to hit targets of a different kind after being snapped up to lead the sales team of a Wiltshire glazing firm.
Mike Ogden, who spent two years with the Old Trafford giants in his youth, has taken on the role of sales executive & development manager at DL Windows, as the company prepares to launch its expansion plan.
The 32-year-old went on to sign for Bradford City and Stockport County, before training to become a personal trainer and relocating to Wiltshire.
“Mike has been employed to improve the quality of our service to our customers, retrain the office sales force and to take DL Windows to the next level”
After a spell working as a successful PT, Mike’s career path saw him appointed as the assistant club manager at Combe Grove Manor Country Club, going on to become Spa Manager at Bowood, Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in 2009.
“I bring a wealth of knowledge in dealing with all types of customers, business management and a strong sales track record in achieving budgeted targets year on year for the past seven years,” he said.
“DL Windows are gaining an improved unique customer service, a can-do attitude and a product that is recognised as the best in the market. We will be one step ahead of our competitors, and by doing this we will be transparent in our approach in all areas.
“With a strong foundation, a team of unique professionals and a transparent approach, DL Windows will be transformed with my direction.”
Mike arrives as part of the firm’s period of expansion. Formed nearly 50 years ago, DL is relocating from its Chippenham base to larger premises on the Porte Marsh Industrial Estate in Calne.
The company will retain a presence in Chippenham, with plans to open a new show site in the town centre before the year’s end, with a further showroom opening in Yeovil – home of sister company DL Group.
Managing director Malcolm Lyus said: “Mike has been employed to improve the quality of our service to our customers, retrain the office sales force and to take DL Windows to the next level – whilst also leading the windows and doors sales force.”
He joins fellow new recruit Robin Winter, who recently joined the team as a sales executive.
Lyus added: “Robin has been recruited to head up and develop the conservatory side of the business. He brings with him a great deal of experience in the sector to spearhead the retail of our market-leading products.”
