Uninsured driver faces walk home after police seize car

The uninsured, untaxed car is taken away after the driver was stopped in Box

POLICE patrolling rural areas around Chippenham seized a car after finding that the driver was flaunting the law.

The Chippenham Community Policing Team spent the first few hours of their night shift dealing with various pubs and clubs in the town centre.

Officers then focused their patrols on rural areas, stopping a car in Box at 4am which had a faulty headlight.

Roadside checks confirmed that the driver had only a provisional driving license, no insurance, no MoT test and no tax for the vehicle.

The vehicle was seized under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act, and the driver was reported for the offences.
