POLICE in West Swindon have today uncovered a cannabis factory at a residential address.
Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team attended the address in Plattes Close, Shaw, shortly after 11.30am.
After entering the premises, a large number of cannabis plants and paraphernalia were found in two bedrooms and a garage extension.
A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and taken to Gablecross Police Station. He remains in custody.
Sergeant Gemma Vinton, of the West NPT, said: “This morning’s discovery was a big success and I am pleased that the team have prevented such a large amount of cannabis from making its way onto the streets.
“I’d like to reassure members of the local community that Wiltshire Police take all reports of drug activity very seriously.
“I would encourage anyone that has information which they believe could help Wiltshire Police to contact us immediately on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
