Body of missing Swindon man found at Penhill property

THE social media campaign to find missing Swindon man Richard Roberts has reached a deeply unhappy ending after his mother confirmed that his body had been discovered at a property in Penhill this afternoon.

Friends and family took to Facebook over the weekend after the 30-year-old failed to return home from work on Friday night – despite sending a text saying he was on his way.

This evening, Richard’s mother Chelsea Johnson has confirmed that police had located his body.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A man has been found dead at an address in Penhill Swindon.

“Police were called at 12:22 today to an address in Penhill Swindon to reports of a sudden death at the location.

“Ambulance and police attended the scene where they confirmed a man, aged 30, was found dead inside a residential property.

“Next of kin have been informed and formal identification will take place in due course.

“The man was reported as missing on Friday 3 October and police had been making efforts to locate him.
