A NEW boxing club has been opened in Swindon by former IBO champion Kelvin Young.

The club – Penhill Amateur Boxing Club – is for children and adults, meets at Chippenham Close Community Centre, Penhill, on Tuesdays from 6-7pm.

Kelvin retired in 2017 after 28 professional fights, winning five pro titles, vowing to stay heavily involved in boxing coaching as well as personal training.

With the emphasis on discipline, fitness and training children, the official opening is on February 6 at 6pm.

The club isn’t to be confused with Victory Valley Boxing Club, which also meets at the community centre.
