Man arrested as 16-year-old is discovered with serious head injuries in Salisbury

Two men have been arrested over the suspected theft of a caravan

WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was seriously assaulted.

The incident happened just before 1.30pm today (Sunday 7 August 2016) on Downton Road, Salisbury, close to the BP garage.

A 16-year-old male was found with serious injuries to his head and is currently receiving medical treatment.  He is in a serious but stable condition.

A 36-year-old local man has been arrested in relation to this incident and is currently in custody.

Det Sgt Dean Garvin said:  “This is a busy area of Salisbury, so a number of people are more than likely to have seen or heard something suspicious around this time.

“If that was you please come forward to help with our enquiries.

“I would like to thank those who have helped police so far, however if you haven’t spoken to an officer yet and have information please contact me.

“Any information you have, no matter how small, may be crucial to our investigation.”
