A MAN carrying what is thought to be an iron bar carried out a robbery at the Iceland store in Cricklade Road, Swindon.
He went in the store carrying the weapon and demanded money from the till at about 7.45pm on Saturday, fleeing with notes, small change and vouchers.
After he left the store it is believed he headed right, down Cricklade Road.
The man was wearing a scarf across his face, and had a blue and grey coloured jacket on with black trousers.
Detective Constable Jared Yalden said: “This was understandably a very frightening incident for the staff member involved – fortunately nobody was injured.
“This incident happened fairly early on in the evening – it is very likely that there would have been people in the local area at the time, either walking or driving past.
“If you saw or heard anything suspicious, please get in touch. Any information could be crucial to our investigation.”
