Thieves make escape in two stolen Mercedes vans after Brook Lane raid


POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two vehicles were stolen in Westbury during a burglary.

Overnight between 5pm on 4 April and 9am on 5 April, a portacabin in Brook Lane, Westbury Trading Estate, was broken into.

Cash, tools and keys for two white Mercedes Sprinter vans were taken, and the vehicles were stolen from outside the unit. The vehicles were both ’62’ plates.

One of the vans was located in Malmpit Hill in Codford on cloned number plates, while the second van, with a registration number ending in ‘UMA’ is still missing.

Anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in Brook Lane, or in Malmpit Hill overnight between 4 and 5 April, should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if preferred.
